Similar logo?

I’m a web/graphic designer by trade. That means I design graphics, including logos and identities. Logos are carefully crafted images based on the industry and the particular company. This rip-off of the “RUN DMC” logo by changing the word to “DIM SUM”, a sad example of what one dim sum restaurant has done. True hip-hop heads would be insulted to see this iconography ripped to undeservedly steal your attention.

    I don’t see it as an insult. If anything I think it could have been purposeful and even a subtle tribute. There are plenty of Chinatown spots that have their own designs and graphics knocked off such as Ice Cream Factory and Yummy Noodles. Borrowing something and reinterpreting it is what hip-hop is about. If you still don’t believe me, one needs to look no further than Wu-Tang Clan’s redefinition of terms Shaolin and Wu-Tang.
