Expired Chinese Mooncakes?

27 Sep

Latest China food scare: Mid-Autumn Festival is coming up that means it mooncake season. Be sure to check where your mooncakes came from and most importantly look for the expiration date. A good advice is to buy the loose ones from bakeries so you’ll know where it comes from and can inspect for freshness.

Look what a pretty box.

They hidden the expiration date underneath a *FAKE* storage instruction label, how shady. You can’t see the expiration date because they marker out the month.

Kossar’s Bialys – Shame Shame Shame

Shame Shame Shame - Kossar’s Bialys Fox News

What can I say? Two words: tourist trap. Kossar’s Bialys offers bland, tasteless, cold bialys served up with attitude. It’s definitely not worth the 90 cents you dish out. Don’t think just because there’s a line at this New York “institution” that their bialys and bagels are worth the wait. Their lack of customer service makes their bialys even harder to swallow. How preposterous of me to order two bialys in separate bags? The cashier looked at me like I’ve grown two heads. Well sir, I would like my bialy to go and so would my friend! Next time if I want to be treated like a human being, I need to order a dozen of these tasteless discs of crap.

Similar logo?

18 Sep

I’m a web/graphic designer by trade. That means I design graphics, including logos and identities. Logos are carefully crafted images based on the industry and the particular company. This rip-off of the “RUN DMC” logo by changing the word to “DIM SUM”, a sad example of what one dim sum restaurant has done. True hip-hop heads would be insulted to see this iconography ripped to undeservedly steal your attention.
